Religion or Reality – Why Sunday Celebration?

 Suggestion for group discussion:  Divide the group into 4 and let each sub group discuss one question each. Then come together and share what you have learnt.

The 4 things that happen Every Sunday are:

 1.     Serving

         Read Romans 12:4-8, 1;  Cor. 12:12-26

  1. How important is it that every part of the human body functions well?
  1. What is the consequence to the whole human body if a single part is injured or does not function?

 

 

  1. A couple of people can share a personal example of what happens when he/she got injured, and what was the consequence to the rest of his/her body?

 

  1. ­From the verse we have just read, we understand that the church is like a B_ _ _.

 

  1. How important is it that every member of the church functions in their gifting?
  1. What is the consequence to church if a single member does not function?

 

  1. How can I personally, with the gifts God has given me, serve during the Sunday Celebration?

 

 2.     Worship

         Read Ephesians 5:22-27

  1. How important is it in a Marriage relationship that a husband and wife are completely devoted to one another?
  1. What are ways in which a person can show his/her spouse or that they are devoted to each another?

 

 

  1. A couple of people can share a personal experience that they did for their loved one and what was the result.

 

 

  1. From the verse above we understand that the church is like a

  1. How important is it in that the church is completely devoted to Jesus?
  1. What are ways in which you can show this devotion towards Jesus during the worship time?

 

 

 

  1. What are practical ways in which I can be sensitive to someone, who is totally new to a Church worship setting?

 

 3.     Word

        Read Eph 6:10-14

  1. How important is it that the soldiers of the Indian army are well trained for battle?
  1. What are the consequences, if a soldier who is weak and untrained, is made to face the enemy? What impact will it have on his fellow soldiers, and on those who he is supposed to defend?

 

  1. From the verse above we understand that the church is like an

  1. From the verse above we read who is our enemy? How important is it that we as Christians are well trained for battle?
  1. What are the consequences, if a member of a church who is weak and untrained, is made to face the enemy? What impact will it have on his fellow soldiers, and on those who he is supposed to defend?

 4.     Fellowship

        Read Eph 2:19-22, Heb 10:24-25, Rom 12:10, Col 3:14-16

  1. What are ways in which a Human family can grow in love and togetherness?
  1. What are the consequences of broken relationships, hatred and mistrust between family members?

 

 

 

  1. Do we see any examples in society today?
